At Sara Stanley Photography we love to help you showcase your pregnancy with a maternity session. One style we love in particular is the more 'Fine Art' approach. This is more of a formal studio portrait session.

Fine Art Maternity Sessions are an amazing way to capture the beauty and grace of pregnancy. It is an art form that captures the natural beauty of a woman during one of the most transformative times of her life. The artful combination of light, shadows, and poses can create stunning images that will be cherished for a lifetime. They have quickly become some of my most favorite sessions to capture.

If you are considering a Fine Art Studio Maternity Session -- here are some tips to consider:

• Outfits: Choose an outfit that make you feel comfortable and confident. Long gowns, flowy skirts, and form-fitting tops are great choices. Avoid busy patterns or prints that might be distracting. You can also bring something special from home to make the session more sentimental. The SSP Studio has a COMPLETE wardrobe for you to choose from. We have gowns in just about every color, bodysuits, draping fabric and accessories!

• Hair and makeup? Book a professional hair and makeup artist to help you look and feel your best. They can create a natural, glowing look that will enhance your natural beauty. You don't get in front of the camera very often, so this is the PERFECT time to get dolled up! 

• Timing? The ideal timing is anywhere from 32-36 weeks for first time baby mamas, and as early as 28 weeks for subsequent pregnancies! You can book as early as late as you like however, sometimes our bellies are nice and round at 26 weeks, and other times we are late to book so 38 weeks can work too! 

• Who should come with me to the session? Well if you want your significant other or if you already have kiddos, they are MORE than welcome to come with you and be in the photos as well! The studio only has wardrobe for mamas however. So if you are planning to have family join you, stick to neutral colors for everyone! 

Remember, a fine art maternity session is all about celebrating the beauty of pregnancy. It is a chance to capture this moment in time and create lasting memories that you and your family will treasure for years to come. I know you might be worried about being TOO pregnant or not knowing how to be in front of the camera, but we will work with you to create a variety of poses that showcase your bump and highlight all your natural curves in the most beautiful of ways!
