What to Expect
Before Your Session
Once your session is reserved, I'll send you everything you need to know—from what to wear to how to prepare your little one. We'll also discuss colors, styling, and any special requests so your session feels uniquely yours.
During Your Session
Your baby sets the pace.
There is never a rush.
We'll stop for feedings, cuddles, diaper changes, and all the little moments that come with welcoming a new baby. Parents and siblings are always encouraged to be part of the experience.
After Your Session
Within a few days you'll receive your proof gallery where you'll choose your favorite images. Once selections are made, each portrait is carefully hand-edited before delivery.
FAQ
When should I book my newborn session?
The best time to reserve your session is during your second trimester. We'll pencil in your due date and finalize your session once baby arrives. This ensures I have flexibility to photograph your little one during those sleepy first few weeks. But not to worry, even if your baby has already been born, I would still love to see you!
What if my baby arrives early or late?
No worries at all! Babies rarely arrive exactly on schedule. Once your little one is here, simply send me a message and we'll choose the perfect session date together.
What should we wear?
Neutral, timeless clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus where it belongs—on your family. I'll send a complete preparation guide with wardrobe suggestions after booking, and I'm always happy to help you choose outfits.
Can siblings be included?
Absolutely! We offer several sessions just for this purpose. Some of my favorite images are the tiny interactions between new big brothers and sisters. Family and sibling portraits are always encouraged.
What if my baby won't sleep?
Please don't stress! Years of photographing newborns have taught me that every baby is different. Sessions are completely baby-led, with plenty of time for feeding, soothing, cuddles, and breaks whenever they're needed.
How old should my baby be?
The ideal time for posed newborn portraits is within the first two to three weeks after birth, while babies are still extra sleepy and curled up. That said, if your little one is older, don't worry! Beautiful newborn portraits are absolutely still possible, and I'd love to chat about the best option for your family.
